The American University of Kosovo is committed to assisting students whose academic merit and/or need warrant support. The University aims to give every student the opportunity to take advantage of a high quality AUK education and, accordingly, offers different financial aid options.1. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS AT AUK:
* The Excellence in English (TOEFL) and Math Scholarship Award
Based on the entrance exam scores (TOEFL and Math), high scoring students automatically receive substantial scholarship support. No application is required and students are informed of the award amount when the scores are obtained. These awards range from 1000 EUR-4000 EUR. Students who have high scores in both math and English may receive awards for both.
The award will continue through the four year program if the student maintains a 3.4 GPA and remains a full time student at all times (12 credit hours minimum per quarter).
Note: For the Excellence Scholarship Program the result of the first exam taken in TOEFL and Math will be considered.
* Private Scholarships
Several private scholarships, such as the Cami Family Scholarship, are available to eligible students. Application must be submitted.
* My Hometown Student Scholarship
For the academic year 2008-09, students from Prizren, Mitrovice, Presheve-Bujanovc, Ferizaj and Kline are eligible for this scholarship. Up to four students from each town will receive awards varying in amount from 2,500 EUR-4,000 EUR. Application must be submitted.
2. FINANCIAL AID:
Individuals who are not receiving Excellence or Hometown Awards may qualify for financial aid based on need and/or merit basis. Applications are available from AUK (by email) and must be hand delivered to the university campus in hard copy. Dates to submit are from June 15 to June 30, 2008. If you are not in Kosovo, you can have a friend or family member hand deliver your application. Be sure to receive a receipt. You can also download the application below, but a hard copy must be delivered. No electronic submissions will be allowed.
